If so, you might be the perfect candidate for the Child Care and Pre-school Executive Director position at Lincoln Childcare Center.
As the Lincoln Childcare Center Director, you will oversee the daily operations of our licensed and Better Beginning level 3 childcare center and Pre-School Program, which serves children from 6 weeks to 5 years old. As the Executive Director, you must ensure that our center adheres to the strict standards of quality and safety set forth by the Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education (DCCECE) and the Minimum Licensing Requirements established by the Department of Human Services (DHS). You will also manage the center's staff, budget disbursement, parent communication, ABC Program, and curriculum and serve as Lincoln’s liaison to the Community, The Board of Directors, and the United Way.
*An ABC program coordinator or site director without teaching responsibilities shall meet the minimum licensing requirements for a center director AND complete the Director’s Orientation and Conscious Discipline training within six months, subject to the availability of training. The Director will preferably have experience in early childhood, Arkansas Better Chance (ABC), and Center Management.
To be eligible for this position, you must have:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher Degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
Bachelor’s Degree in a non-related field from a regionally accredited college or university plus one (1) of the following:
- Four (4) years of experience in early childhood education.
- Child Development Associate Credential (CDA);
- Birth – Pre-K Credential.
OR
Associate degree in early childhood, Child Development, or a related field, plus six (6) years of experience in Early Childhood Education;
OR
Eight (8) years of experience in Early Childhood Education and completion of one (1) of the following within two (2) years of employment:
- Child Development Associate Credential.
- Birth – Pre-K Credential.
- Director’s Credential or the equivalent

Technical Certificate in Early Childhood Education
Director Job Description
Supervision of teachers’ Aides, Cook, Janitor, and supporting staff.
•
Keep updated training hours for staff required by DHS, Department of Education, and Better
Beginnings.
Work with Alexandra Altiner, Financial and Center Manager, keeping her up to date on financial statements, grant information received (so she can work on it), mailing related to Grants, DHS, USDA, United Way, billing and payables, budget disbursement questions and expenditure approval, Insurance renewal notices, minimum licensing, ITERS, ECERS, DHS, USDA, ABC, Better Beginnings and Audit evaluations and Inspections. All should promptly be forwarded to Alexandra Altiner for review.

Follow up on licensure requirements, ABC classroom rules, and regulations.
•
Maintenance of accurate staff records (including licensing components, enrollment information, and schedules.
•
Maintain an environment that is tolerant and respectful of child and family cultures, values, and differences.
•
Ensure the Center continues to meet all licensing requirements.
•
This includes but is not limited to standards of health and safety, learning environment, nutrition, food preparation, physical safety, and well-being of children and staff.
•
Maintain the current policies and procedures that ensure the welfare of children, such as
developmentally appropriate curriculum, positive Behavior Management Plans, and safe arrival and departure.
•
Represent the Center in the community and liaise with other agencies.
•
Confers regularly with the Financial – Center Manager and Board President, working as a team to implement Board decisions, coordinate the work of Board Committees in Developing Board Goals and long-range planning, and reviewing progress toward goals.

Oversee property and facility maintenance
•
Establishes safety measures, report accidents, and insurance reports.
•
Keeps necessary records (legal, financial, etc.) for Audits and other inspections.
•
Maintain the Service records of program volunteers and staff.
•
Keeps aware of community interests and needs related to children and families.
•
Maintains contacts with other community groups and stimulates interest in Lincoln.
•
Arranges training and development opportunities for staff. Conducts periodic staff meetings.
•
Directs activities of the daycare center and ABC Preschool Program to provide instruction and care for children.
•
Oversee, supervise, and certify the preparation, accuracy, and maintenance of various records and reports.
•
Operate within the approved budget by the Board of Directors and Financial Manager.
•
Authorize the purchase of instructional materials and teaching aides, such as books, toys, and games designed to stimulate learning.
•
Perform other duties as needed/ and assigned.
